EV owners know If you drive a zero emissions EV (ELECTRIC VEHICLE) you pay no:
Road Tax, Congestion Charge, ULEZ, LEZ or ZEZ
Business owners can claim a 100% tax deductible expense claim against company profits also.
The ULEZ zone in London extended its zone to include the North CIRCULAR (A406) and South CIRCULAR (A205). Electric vehicles are completely exempt from the charges in the ULEZ/LEZ/CC zones.
However, all other vehicles will pay: Congestion Charge – £15 (ALL Non-ELECTRIC) ULEZ – £12.50 (VEHCILES NOT MEETNG EMISSIONS STANDARDS) LEZ – £100 (VANS, LORRIES, MINIBUSES NOT MEETING EMISSIONS STANDARDS)
In addition to these London emission charging zones, as of 2022 Manchester and Bradford join in ‘Clean Air Zones’ charges.
What is a clean air zone?
An area where targeted vehicles are that do not meet the clean air zone standard will pay a daily rate if they travel with in a Clean Air Zone.
This has been put into place to help improve the quality of air. The U.K Government hopes that these changes will discourage drivers with vehicles not matting emission standards. Gradually pushing out the use of non-electric cars.
