Winter weather warnings have started in the UK.
For those of us who don’t get to jet off abroad for summer, it’s hardly the tropics here in England. We merely get a few weeks of constant sunshine and we’re at it again, complaining that the desk fans don’t work properly, that we need Air Conditioning in every room around the house and the London underground tube is unbearable.
With summer done, the cooler seasons are approaching, however, the forecast comes with a serious WINTER WEATHER WARNING.
Many parts of our coast have been battered by heavy storms throughout Autumn. The latest storm named Brian caused road closures and heavy transport delays across the country with winds gusting up to 70mph colliding with high tides. In particular, the western side of Britain has been hit with the chaos resulting in a national clean-up along our shores.
Future forecasts show that there are 11 storms heading in our direction this winter – these storms being highly unpredictable. So although this weeks weather is forecasted to be much calmer than the previous weeks, the next storm could be just around the corner. Indications suggest the storm period may be active until January. Yes, that’s right, STORM PERIODS in England!
As we are moving forward into November, freezing temperatures are not far ahead. There is a serious possibility of SNOW, this could arrive as early as next week! While building Frosty the snowman is all fun and games, this time of year means more black ice causing crashes and slips. Other warnings include Jack Frost making an appearance throughout the country. Predictions also suggest freezing fog and the dreaded sheet ice.
Stay safe this winter!
Try to remain indoors unless you need to go out.
Turn the heating up high.
We recommend stocking up with the de-icer!
Dress for the weather and wrap up warm, especially covering ears and hands.
