Summer .. or at least a few days of it is finally here!
With temperatures soaring into the high 20’s over the next few days across London, it is finally time to get a tan (in between the forecasted thunderstorms that is). So what will you do if you don’t have air conditioning?
As the weather heats up and the office gets sweaty and unbearable, we have come up with a couple of ideas to keep cool if you are not lucky enough to have air conditioning installed.
Tip 1: Make your own air conditioning solutions.
Be the office geek and bring in a little desk fan, sit a bowl of ice in front if it.. and voila…instant air conditioning in the office..well at your desk at least ( the only problem is that you will have to keep the ice replenished so a few trips to the ice machine today).
Tip 2: Be a fashion diva
Make sure you wear light and airy clothes in this weather, lycra and tight fit may look great but a flowy linen shirt or dress is key to stop you sweating. Also go for lighter colors as dark colors absorb and trap heating, making you feel like a walking radiator.
Tip 3: Don’t just drink up at the bar after work
Keep hydrated throughout the day drinking plenty of water..simple but really important as you will loose alot of water as you sweat in the heat, so make sure you drink up.. even if you are not feeling thirsty.
Tip 4: Drop Out Gym
Well don’t stop training totally, but try to train during the coolest part of the day, which is normally before 7am. So…up nice and early…work out and spend the day chilling knowing you already felt the burn first thing.
Tip 5: Food for Thought
On that lunch break.. try to go for cool foods, like salads and fruit, rather than those winter warmers like a big Sunday roast.
